FT8 DXpedition Mode (Hound/Fox) operates with No CAT control

FT8 DXpedition Mode uses modulation frequency from 300 to 4000Hz.
However rig spec. is till 3000Hz.
So, if you want to use till 4000Hz, CAT controlling is required to take SPLIT operation.
Also, SPLIT operation can be taken by manually hand. In this case, set the setting to "Fake-it"
Below is for no CAT (CI-V) operating by modulation frequency 3000Hz or less.

=Hound (Hunter station) :
... Receiving 300-900Hz, Calling 1000-4000Hz, No CAT operating 1000-3000Hz (Before QSO start)
... QSO started 300-900Hz (Program selects proper ferquency automatically)
=Fox (Pedition station) :
... Receiving 1000-4000Hz, No CAT operating 1000-3000Hz (Before QSO start)
... QSO started 300-900Hz

If Fox does not take CAT controlling, SPLIT operation has no advantage.
It depends on pile-up. But, no CAT operation is quite simple.
FT8 DXpedition Mode realizes only two transmitting by each station. Normal mode is four.

Actual tried system for each Hound and Fox
=Hound (JA7IIZ) : FT-991(USB Width3kHz, Dummy), Lenovo S206 (Win 10), WSJT-X v2.0.0, HAMSTIR DX-R1
=Fox (JA7II/1) : FT-726(USB Width3kHz, Dummy), ASUS ePC900 (Win XP), WSJT-X v2.0.0, HAMSTIR ST

Hound [eg. JA7IIZ] Setting and QSO pictures

Required items to call Fox.

No CAT setting, Rig name too.
When WSJT-X is starting, message of "CAT is required ..." is popped up. But, only click "OK".

Hound is also urged so as to change to outside frequency of FT8 main. Set it on near Fox.

Check "Special operating ..." and choose "Hound".
Bandwidth to"3000Hz", then click "OK" to finish setting.

Re-boot WSJT-X, some messages appeared, but click "OK" to begin.
After that, red label of "Hound" is displayed at middle bottom.

Below picture is hard-copy of Hound. Even dummy load used, it shows strong signal.
By the click of Pedition CQ in Band Activity column, "Enable Tx" becomes red and automatically TX starts.
Before this calling, TX frequency was set to 2800Hz.
But, after QSO started, frequency is automatically changed to near Fox frequency.

Fox [eg. JA7II/1] Setting and QSO pictures

In Fox setting case, "Double-click ... " is not required unless specified contact.

No CAT setting, Rig name too.
When WSJT-X is starting, message of "CAT is required ..." is popped up. But, only click "OK".

Example of PC on-board sound device.
For better encoding and decoding rate of digital communicating, sound effect must be all off in property.

Fox should choose "Log automatically".

Program urge to set outside of FT8 main. set it in clear point.

Check "Special operating ..." and choose "Fox".
Bandwidth to"3000Hz", then click "OK" to finish setting.

Below picture is hard-copy of Fox.
Re-boot WSJT-X, some messages appeared, but click "OK" to begin.
After that, red label of "Fox" is displayed at middle bottom.
Set modulation frequency to "Tx 300 Hz". Checking of "Hold Tx Freq" is better (Important for Fox).
Write "CQ JA7II/1 PM95"(eg.) at Tx6 in "Tab 1". Next, click "Enable Tx" to start CQ calling.
When proper time comes, automatically CQ calling starts.
When received some station call, automatically it is put into "Station calling DXpedition" list.
By click by Fox operator, it's callsign is shift into "Waiting box" in "Tab 3"
And, program starts automatically transmitting for QSO.
